@wariana_watos—buyer + creative director of @parlamento.lisboa—dissects the undercurrents of fashion with the ease of someone who's seen it all. Now, we might just stand a chance at looking effortlessly ahead of the curve.

TREND 01 Smells Weird? Good!

Once you step into the world of niche perfumery, you’ll realize you’re never really free.

Clothes might help you speak to the world around you, but perfumes… they make you have a conversation with yourself. It gets addictive!

As you dive into this internal dialogue, challenging your identity through top, heart, and base notes, it’s only a matter of time before someone from the outside says:

“OMG, you smell amazing, what’s that?”

My advice? Just smile and walk away—like a true perfume TV commercial.

Your niche

fragrance is now your

best-kept secret;

keep it that

way.

TREND 02 New Heights for Hiking Gear

Gosh, tell me about it. All I wanna do is run into the wilderness as the sun rises, reach the top of some Alps you can’t even spell, and race back down just in time to dine with my girls at the newest spot in town. That’s the modern outdoor dream!

As the lines between Gorpcore and daily life blur more and more, so does our craving for clothing that’s both ready for a 25km hike and stylish enough to enter the realm of beauty. At the end of the day, the outdoors are the ultimate commodity—when you stay outside, you stay winning. Blame it on Salomon; they brought us here. But I love the view!

TREND 03 Workwear Redux (Second Round)

We're still on the run—this time chasing something my generation never really got to experience: quality and substance that transcends generations.

((((CHASING))))

Workwear and Heritage icons, like Carhartt’s classic Detroit jackets, are going head-to-head with Prada’s luxury takes—and even their own vintage ancestors—on a second-hand page near you. The more beat-up, the better. Elbows worn out? Perfect. Questionable yellow stains? Pure gold. Zipper only works on full moon nights? Sounds like a done deal.

TREND 04 Dèjá vu: Is it Old or Something New?

Who’s this babe? I swear I’ve seen her before… maybe in the year 2000 (?). How did she even get here? She’s romantic, free-spirited, yet so cerebral. And that handbag - easily the craziest thing I’ve seen in a while. Is that patchwork?

She might look like someone who hunts for gems at Humana’s “1 Euro Everything” days or snatches your three-year-old Vinted favorites—but actually, she doesn’t. At all. She’s impossible to box in. Her top echoes an era she wasn’t even born in, while her shoes were likely grabbed from the SSense sale. Yet, somehow, everything comes together seamlessly—the new and the old, happily ever after...

There’s a roster of young designers determined to revive the best—and the very best—of a recent past; long enough to call it a memory but still so recent you can smell it and taste it. Seems to me like it’s the best, most beautiful, and most poetic way to move forward.
