@Constança Firmino personal's journey with Erelisbon

From PR to jewelry design, @constancamfirmino’s path to launching @erelisbon was shaped by a burnout and a profound love for the creative process. In our interview with her, she shared how her personal journey and experiences deeply influenced the brand.

@MOCHIS Before launching Erelisbon, you had a background in public relations. What made you decide to take the leap and start your own jewelry brand?

@CF A few years ago I launched a jewelry line in partnership with @heyharper, it was my first contact with designing jewelry and I fell in love with the process. After having a burnout I realized that I needed to change my professional life and it made sense to create a jewelry brand since it was something that I was already thinking about.

@MOCHIS How do you translate your own personality and experiences into the brand? Or is it something you try to keep separate?

@CF Erelisbon completely reflects my personal experiences, inspirations and pieces that I would love to have but don’t exist yet. Even the concept behind the brand was created because my boyfriend couldn’t find interesting jewelry for himself.

My last collection and campaign was inspired by my experience in corporate life so we decided to recreate the traditional chewed bic pen cap and we photographed the collection in the most corporate place on earth, Wall Street.

@MOCHIS In Portugal, it's a common tradition to gift jewelry to newborns — a practice that reflects the deep cultural significance jewelry holds. Do these traditional elements weigh on your work?

@CF In Portugal we have a strong relationship with jewelry from the Mordomas de Viana to the wedding rings, and so many other representations of deep cultural significance. In Erelisbon we value and cherish all those moments, but we also want to disrupt and create jewelry that isn’t attached to any event or time but that can be worn or gifted all year round.

Our pieces are handmade in Portugal,

designed to last a lifetime and be

passed down as

heirlooms.

@MOCHIS What have been some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced in the competitive jewelry industry?

@CF I’m a believer that there is room for everyone and with that in mind, my biggest challenge is finding the next object to make into a jewelry piece.
